With an English speaking guide, wind your way through traditional Balinese mountain farmland, passing rice fields and selak plantations to the Pura Luhur Muncak Sari Temple. Our guides will provide you with sarong and sash so as you can enter the temple. From within the temple you can, if you choose, wind your way down a long staircase (400m) to a sacred grotto where the most important ceremonies take place. From there you walk down to a beautiful place by the river. You need to be reasonably fit to take the stairs. A car will be waiting to bring you back.

With an English speaking guide, and starting early in the morning, walk to the top of Mt. BatuKaru. Gunung Batukaru, sometimes spelled Batukau, is Bali's second-highest mountain at 2,276 m. It is the highest peak in the Bedugal volcanic area, but is dormant. Batukaru is worshipped by the Balinese, Batukaru has a large crater, the largest on Bali, but this crater is open at the southern end, allowing the river Mawa to escape. It is this that gives it the name "Batukaru", which means "coconut shell" in Balinese. Make your way up into the original rain-forest, passing Temple…….. Although tiny this is the most important temple to the surrounding villages. This trek is for the fit only and takes approx. 9 hours, but the views from the top are 360 degrees, and spectacular.

Winding your way down a rural path to a singular rice field, nestled within a valley, with the volcano towering above it. Here you will find your personal waiter, and a table laid out for lunch, where you can relax and you may truly capture the essence of Bali’s magical countryside.
